Teachers' unions criticize the 2027 State Budget proposal

Teachers' unions Fenprof and FNE have criticized the government's 2027 State Budget (OE2027) proposal for the education sector. While the budget includes a 1.5% increase in funding to 7.78 billion euros, unions argue that once projected inflation is accounted for, the real growth is only 0.8% and primarily covers existing commitments rather than new investment. The budget proposal is scheduled for a general discussion and vote in Parliament on October 27-28, with the final global vote set for November 24.
