The 2027 State Budget proposal allocates 174 million euros specifically for the expansion of Lisbon and Porto metro networks, including 60 million for the Lisbon Circular Line and 90 million for the Red Line extension. Additionally, 338 million euros is earmarked for the new 'Violet Line' connecting Loures and Odivelas, while Porto's projects include funding for the Yellow, Pink, and Ruby lines.
The State Budget proposal for 2027 allocates 843 million euros for road and rail investment, a decrease from the 868 million euros in 2026. While investment in the railway network will increase to 736 million euros, specifically for projects like high-speed rail and the third Tejo crossing, road investment will drop significantly to 107 million euros.
The proposed 2027 State Budget allocates the largest share of regional investment to the North (685.4 million euros), primarily driven by Porto Metro infrastructure projects, including the Ruby Line and extensions to Gondomar and Trofa. Other regions receiving allocations include Greater Lisbon (374 million euros) and the Centre (189.5 million euros), with over 5.9 billion euros dedicated to multi-regional projects such as railway network maintenance and development.
