"Wear only black and stay masked": PSP monitors group with over 500 people preparing "rebellion" in Lisbon
Social media content is circulating calls for "rebellions" in Portugal, specifically at Colombo shopping center in Lisbon on 31 October and Alma Shopping in Coimbra on the same date, as well as Avenida da Liberdade in Lisbon on 24 October. The posts include instructions for participants to wear black masks and incite the looting of shops, supposedly in support of riots in France. The PSP has confirmed it is monitoring these online calls and will take necessary measures to prevent crimes and maintain public order.
Why it mattersIf you are in the vicinity of these shopping centers or Avenida da Liberdade on 24 or 31 October, be aware of the potential for organized disruption and police presence in those areas.
