FAP demands limits on master's degree tuition fees in 2027 State Budget

The Academic Federation of Porto (FAP) is calling for the government to set clear limits and criteria for master's degree tuition fees in the upcoming 2027 State Budget (OE2027) to prevent prohibitive cost increases. The government proposal currently intends to unfreeze fees for undergraduate and master's degrees starting in the 2027/2028 academic year, using the 2026 consumer price index (excluding housing) as a basis for adjustments. Students from five higher education institutions have announced a protest in Lisbon for October 21st against the proposed unfreezing.
