Students should use AI only from the 5th year onwards, government proposes

The Ministry of Education has released draft guidelines for the responsible use of artificial intelligence in public and private schools, currently in a 30-day public consultation before taking final effect on 4 January 2027. The proposal recommends that students use AI autonomously only from the 2nd cycle (5th and 6th years) onwards, prohibiting direct or autonomous use in preschool, restricting primary school (1st cycle) to guided activities without personal accounts, and requiring parental consent and avoiding personal accounts for children under 13.
