EN243 reopens this Friday in Alcanena, eight months after landslide

The EN243 road between Moitas Venda and Videla in Alcanena reopens to traffic on Friday 17 October at 16:00. The section between kilometers 28.704 and 31.325 had been closed since February due to a landslide, but another section of the same road in Alcaria (Porto de Mós) remains closed for ongoing reconstruction works.

Why it matters

If you travel between Alcanena, Torres Novas, or the Leiria region, the reopening of this section restores a key route, though you should remain aware that the EN243 is still blocked elsewhere in the Porto de Mós area.

New airport: Government requests two runways for large aircraft

The government has challenged ANA regarding its latest technical report for the new Lisbon airport (Luís de Camões), specifically criticizing the removal of plans for a second terminal or satellite terminal.
