Sistema Volta proposes measures to reduce pressure on bottle-return machines near supermarkets

SDR Portugal submitted an action plan to the Ministry of Environment and Energy on Friday 16 October, outlining four strategic axes and 14 measures to tackle urban cleanliness issues caused by the plastic bottle deposit system. The proposals aim to improve public access to the network, expand coverage to transport terminals and underserved areas, and coordinate with municipalities to manage waste and address social impacts arising from scavenging at collection points.
