Santiago do Cacém Council approves family-friendly IMI and IRS refund
The municipal executive approved a family-oriented IMI (property tax) deduction and a 0.5% return of IRS (personal income tax) to residents, pending approval by the Municipal Assembly. The IMI deduction offers fixed rebates ranging from 30 to 140 euros depending on the number of dependents, while the municipal IRS share will decrease from 5% to 4.5%. These measures, along with tax exemptions for companies with profits up to 150,000 euros, are scheduled to take effect in 2027.
