Banking unions call off national strike following 3% salary increase agreement

Banking unions cancelled the national strike scheduled for 30 November after reaching an agreement with the Portuguese Banking Association and Caixas de Crédito Agrícola Mútuo for a 3% pay rise across salary tables and pensions for 2026. The increase, alongside retroactive pay dating back to 1 January 2026, will be reflected in November paychecks, though the strike remains in effect for BCP and Banco Montepio pending further talks.
