Solution to teacher shortage? Graduates without Master’s degrees to teach primary years

The government is proposing a transitional measure that would allow graduates with a degree in Basic Education to teach primary school years without first completing a Master’s degree or professional training. This change, which also includes allowing professionals from other fields to teach subjects like mathematics, aims to address the nationwide teacher shortage; the Ministry intends for the legislation to come into force as soon as possible.
