HIV Parliament 2.0: From debate to action

The HIV Parliament 2.0 initiative gathered health authorities, NGOs, and experts in Lisbon on 17 September to address persistent barriers in the national response to HIV, such as stigma, late diagnosis, and limited system interoperability. The National Program for STIs and HIV/AIDS reported 997 new cases in 2024, with a late diagnosis rate of 53.9%, and outlined goals for 2026–2028 including improved testing access, support for migrant populations, and the implementation of an automated monitoring system.
