Coimbra council makes positive assessment of mobility changes in the city
Following the expansion of the 'metrobus' system to Coimbra-B and Praça da República on 2026-09-10, the city implemented significant traffic reconfigurations and adjusted over 20 SMTUC bus routes. Automatic license plate recognition systems for restricted access streets (such as Rua da Sofia and the central avenue) are expected to be implemented next week, with police currently controlling access manually.
