Which airports in Portugal have the most flight delays?

An analysis of 14 Portuguese airports over the year ending 22 October 2026 found that airports in the Azores recorded the highest rates of flights delayed by more than one hour, with Santa Maria reaching 10.89%. Faro, Madeira, and Porto Santo recorded the lowest rates of long delays, ranging from 3.77% to 4.18%. While Madeira Airport had fewer long delays, it recorded the highest average delay duration among those studied at 145 minutes.

Access to the taxi stand at Lisbon Airport will be controlled from November 3

A new gate system for the Lisbon Airport taxi stand begins operation at 10:00 on 3 November, restricting access to pre-accredited vehicles only. To ensure entry on the first day, taxi drivers must complete their accreditation through the FPT or ANTRAL associations by 30 October; applications submitted after this date will take until the following Tuesday to become active in the database.

Government leaves strike negotiations to CP management

The government confirmed it will not intervene in the strike called by the SFRCI union for Friday 30 October, stating negotiations are the responsibility of the CP administration. The rail operator is working on publishing 2025-2026 salary agreements and analyzing compensation for overtime and holiday work. CP has warned of potential service disruptions across its network between Thursday 29 October and Saturday 31 October.
