The annual inflation rate hit 3.8% in both the Eurozone and the European Union in September, largely driven by an 18.9% increase in energy prices. Portugal's inflation rate for September was 3.6%, unchanged from the previous month but significantly higher than the 1.9% recorded in September 2025.

The events are scheduled for 10:30 in Porto (starting at Praça da Batalha) and Coimbra (starting at Rotunda Portugal dos Pequenitos), and at 14:30 in Lisbon (starting at Cais do Sodré), with strike notices issued across several sectors including commerce, services and entertainment to enable participation.
