Three cases of measles detected in the Lisbon region
The DGS has confirmed three imported cases of measles in the Lisbon and Tagus Valley region, affecting an adult, a child, and an infant under one year old. None of the individuals had a vaccination record, and all had recent travel history to countries with high measles prevalence; none are currently hospitalized.
Why it mattersWhile the cases are isolated and imported, residents in the Lisbon area should check their vaccination status against the national immunization program, as measles is highly contagious.
