Telecommunications and Audiovisual Workers' Union calls strike for October 17

The Sinttav union has called a national strike for October 17, coinciding with a nationwide protest organized by the CGTP-IN union confederation. The strike is held in protest against the rising cost of living, low wages, and precarious working conditions.

School strikes: are parents entitled to paid leave when they miss work?

While the Labor Code does not explicitly list school strikes as a valid reason for absence, legal experts and consumer organizations argue that parents may justify their absence to provide childcare for children under 12 (or those with disabilities/chronic illnesses). TAAG maintenance strike cancels only two flights per day

Parish councils threaten to close doors on November 4 if budget demands are not met

The National Association of Parish Councils (Anafre) has warned that if their budgetary demands are not satisfied, they will cease providing services linked to the central state, including Espaços do Cidadão, SNS24 counters, and social security pension services, starting November 4.
