Project to clear 347 hectares in the Sines industrial zone under public consultation

Aicep Global Parques has launched a public consultation regarding the planned deforestation of 347.62 hectares within the Sines Industrial and Logistics Zone (ZILS). The operation, which includes the removal of over 3,500 cork oaks, will take place in four phases to prepare land for future industrial and logistics facilities. The public consultation remains open until 12 November.

Why it matters

While this is a large-scale land development project rather than an immediate change for residents, those living in or concerned with the development of the Sines region can review the environmental impact study and submit feedback via the 'Participa' portal until 12 November.

First Black Hawk helicopter arrives at Tancos and prepares to begin operations
