Portuguese researchers create system to accelerate endometriosis diagnosis

A European research project involving teams in Portugal is developing a diagnostic system aimed at reducing the time required to diagnose endometriosis from an average of eight years to approximately two months. The project consists of two components: a sanitary pad with sensors to screen for inflammation, and a laboratory analysis method developed in Braga to detect specific genetic mutations associated with the disease.
