Portugal highlights wage growth in 2027 budget debate

The proposed 2027 State Budget, currently undergoing parliamentary debate, includes an increase of the national minimum wage to 970 euros and salary rises for public administration workers. It maintains IMT and Stamp Duty exemptions for first-time homebuyers aged 35 or under, and introduces tax incentives for moderate-rent agreements, including a 1,000-euro rent deduction for tenants and a 10% tax rate for landlords. The final overall vote on the budget is scheduled for 24 November.
