Madeira Civil Protection warns of heavy rain in the archipelago

The Regional Civil Protection Service has issued a warning for worsening weather conditions in the Madeira archipelago from Friday, 30 October. Heavy rain is expected, particularly on the southern slopes and highlands, with a yellow weather warning issued by IPMA for rain, potentially accompanied by thunderstorms, from 00:00 to 09:00 on Sunday, 1 November.

If you live in or are traveling to Madeira, prepare for heavy rain and potential flash flooding; clean your drainage systems and secure loose outdoor objects before the weather worsens, and avoid flooded roads or areas prone to landslides during the yellow warning period on Sunday morning.

Order of Physicians concerned about waiting lists in the Azores
