Lisbon suspends shared electric scooters: what you need to know
The Lisbon City Council approved the suspension of shared electric scooter services on Wednesday, 21 October 2026. Rental companies have a 60-day deadline to remove their vehicles from the city. Privately owned scooters are not affected and may continue to circulate provided they comply with the Highway Code, maintaining a maximum power of 250 watts and a top speed of 25 km/h.
Why it matters
