Increased life expectancy does not change retirement age

The official retirement age for 2027 will remain at 66 years and 11 months. The National Institute of Statistics (INE) confirmed this after data for the 2023-2025 period showed life expectancy at age 65 remains stable at an average of 20.19 years, confirming the projections previously established in the December 2025 ordinance.

Investment account proposed by the CMVM may offer personal or professional management

The CMVM (Portuguese Securities Market Commission) has proposed the creation of an Individual Savings and Investment Account (CIPI). The 6% reduced VAT rate for construction and rehabilitation of homes intended for sale at moderate prices faces uncertainty because the tax status is only confirmed at the final deed.
