House rents shake off downward trend and jump 4.9% in August

Rental prices across Portugal rose by 4.9% year-on-year in August 2026, reaching a median of 18.1 euros per square meter. This is the second consecutive month of increases, with prices rising in 14 of 19 districts and islands, led by significant annual increases in Viana do Castelo, Aveiro, and Faro.
