Government increases public guarantee for youth mortgage credit by 100 million euros
The government has authorized an additional 100 million euros for the public guarantee scheme for youth mortgage loans, following requests from Novo Banco and Montepio Geral. This scheme, which acts as a state guarantor for up to 15% of the transaction value for young people up to 35 years old, now has a total capacity of 2.3 billion euros and applies to contracts signed by the end of 2026.
