Gaia approves agreement with Porto on registration platform for heavy vehicles on the VCI
Starting September 15, heavy goods vehicles (over 3,500 kg, 3+ axles, and 1.10m+ height) are prohibited from the VCI between 07:00 and 21:00 on weekdays, excluding those with origin or destination in Porto or Gaia. A new joint digital platform will manage circulation permits and documentation validation for these vehicles.
Why it mattersIf you are a transport professional or business owner driving heavy vehicles in the Porto metropolitan area, you must register your vehicle on the upcoming digital platform to continue using the VCI outside of permitted categories starting September 15.
