European Central Bank holds interest rates steady

The European Central Bank maintained its key interest rates at their September levels—a 2.50% deposit rate, 2.65% main refinancing rate, and 2.90% marginal lending rate—following its meeting on 29 October. Despite this pause, Euribor rates remain high and market expectations suggest a potential 0.25 percentage point increase at the next meeting on 17 December due to inflationary pressures driven largely by rising energy costs.
