Eleven municipalities at maximum wildfire risk

IPMA has placed 11 municipalities at maximum rural wildfire risk for Thursday, September 3, due to extreme heat reaching 43°C in parts of the mainland. Additionally, a yellow weather warning for heat is in effect for most mainland districts, excluding the far north and Aveiro, starting today until 19:00 on Saturday, September 5.

Why it mattersIf you live in or are traveling through the listed high-risk municipalities, take extreme care with potential ignition sources and follow local civil protection advice; if you are in a yellow-alert district, protect yourself from the high temperatures predicted through Saturday.
