Compensation for electrical supply interruptions doubles to 2.1 million in 2025
Compensation paid to electricity customers for supply interruptions reached 2.1 million euros in 2025, double the 2024 figure, driven by seven 'exceptional' incidents, including a major April blackout. While service quality indicators worsened nationwide, the regulator confirmed that general service standards were met, though individual compensation payments for service failures significantly increased across the mainland, Azores, and Madeira.
