CIVISA raises volcanic alert at Furnas due to increased seismic activity
The Azores Seismovolcanic Information and Surveillance Center (CIVISA) raised the alert level for the Furnas volcano to V1 (metastable equilibrium) on Tuesday following an increase in seismic activity. The alert is set to remain in effect for eight days, until September 16, 2026, unless updated sooner.
