ACP pleased with suspension of shared scooters in Lisbon

Automóvel Club de Portugal (ACP) expressed support for the Lisbon City Council's decision to suspend shared electric scooters in the capital due to safety and pavement obstruction issues. The municipal executive is scheduled to discuss the formal suspension proposal on Wednesday, 21 October 2026, while a petition with roughly 20,000 signatures was delivered to the Municipal Assembly to advance a municipal referendum.

Why it matters

If you rely on shared electric scooters to get around Lisbon, you will no longer be able to use them once the suspension takes effect, as the city council moves to clear them from public streets.
