Yellow weather warning for thunderstorms and heavy rain in Faro and Beja

The Portuguese Institute for the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) has issued a yellow weather warning for the districts of Faro and Beja, in effect from 13:00 to 19:00 on Monday 19 October. The alert covers the risk of thunderstorms, heavy showers, hail, and wind gusts of up to 90 km/h.

Why it matters

If you are in the Faro or Beja districts, be prepared for hazardous conditions including heavy rain and strong wind gusts during this afternoon, which may disrupt local travel.

Order considers specialist nurses' monitoring of pregnancy a 'historic step'
