With or without a mosque, Lisbon City Council is set to build a new Mouraria Square
Lisbon City Council is moving forward with plans to demolish buildings on Rua do Benformoso, which were expropriated ten years ago, to construct a new public square connecting that street to Rua da Palma. The project is being developed internally by the municipality, regardless of whether a proposed mosque is ultimately built at the site.
Why it matters
