"Whoever wants to feed the violence, cast the first stone": Bordalo II places a 'Police' tent in Rossio

Artist Bordalo II installed an art piece featuring a 'Police' tent and riot equipment in Rossio square, Lisbon, protesting police intervention during recent housing demonstrations. Protesters are scheduled to gather again at Largo de Camões at 16:00 on Saturday, 31 October, and move to Rossio to camp overnight. The National Aeronautical Authority has prohibited the use of drones over the square from 12:00 on Saturday, 31 October, until 11:00 on Sunday, 1 November.

Why it matters

If you are in central Lisbon on Saturday 31 October or Sunday 1 November, be aware that large demonstrations in the Rossio and Largo de Camões areas may cause disruptions, police presence, and restricted access to public spaces.
