PSP: immigration police may operate without uniforms and fine employers of undocumented immigrants

The Public Security Police (PSP) confirmed that agents from the Foreigners and Border Control Unit (Núcleo de Estrangeiros e Controle Fronteiriço) are authorized to perform checks on immigrants while in plain clothes. The police also clarified that they possess the authority to issue fines to employers who hire undocumented foreign workers.
