Property owners may have to declare condominium bank accounts in their IRS tax return

The tax authority (Autoridade Tributária) has interpreted that individual property owners must declare foreign-held condominium bank accounts (deposits or securities) in their personal annual IRS tax returns. This requirement applies even if the owner is not the account holder and has no authority to move funds, provided the account is not classified as a simple payment account.
