Portugal expects strengthening of air connections and tourist routes with Venezuela
Economy Minister Manuel Castro Almeida expressed interest during an official visit to Caracas in expanding bilateral air connectivity between Portugal and Venezuela, suggesting that Lufthansa's acquisition of a stake in TAP could relaunch possibilities for new routes. The minister noted that while Lisbon airport faces capacity constraints, other Portuguese airports are capable of receiving TAP flights, as TAP recently resumed regular operations at Maiquetía International Airport after temporary relocations due to infrastructure issues.
