Petrol/diesel not-so-merry-go-round: see new changes from tomorrow

Fuel prices are set to change from Monday, 2 November: petrol is expected to fall by 2.5 cents per litre to an average of €2.031, while diesel is expected to rise by 2 cents to €2.192. These estimates account for adjustments to the ISP tax and reflect global market trends driven by ongoing geopolitical conflicts.

Why it matters

If you drive, you will pay roughly 2 cents more per litre for diesel and 2.5 cents less per litre for petrol from 2 November.

The government has announced a new support scheme for electric vehicle purchases targeting low-income individuals and those in low-density or isolated areas. Eligible residents include those receiving the social electricity tariff or earning less than 11,500 euros per year. The subsidy covers up to 80% of the vehicle price (excluding VAT) with a cap of 15,000 euros, plus an additional 1,000 euros if scrapping a combustion vehicle and another 1,000 euros for a home charging station, totaling up to 17,000 euros in support.

While temperatures are expected to drop starting tomorrow, 2 November, significant rainfall is not forecast for the mainland until Sunday, 8 November.
