Parliament approves IRS deduction increase for families with three or more children
Parliament approved an increase in IRS deductions for families with three or more children, doubling the deduction for the third child and beyond. These full changes apply to tax years starting on 1 January 2028, with a transitional rule applying a 50% increase starting on 1 January 2027. Additionally, the 'Garantia para a Infância' (Child Guarantee) supplement was increased to align with these tax deduction adjustments.
