Nearly 1500 firefighters battle flames in the North on a day of maximum fire risk
Over 100 municipalities across mainland Portugal are at maximum risk of wildfire today, with major active fires reported in Torre de Moncorvo, Ponte de Lima, Santo Tirso, Arouca, Valongo, Marco de Canaveses, Arcos de Valdevez, Montalegre, and Fafe. A total of 1497 firefighters are currently engaged in suppression efforts.
