More than two-thirds of state housing guarantees used by September

As of September 2026, 66.5% of the total public guarantee fund for home purchases by people under 35 has been utilized, totaling 1.42 billion euros in state-backed guarantees. The program, which allows the state to guarantee up to 15% of a property's value to help young people secure 100% financing, has supported 26% of all housing credit contracts signed over the last 21 months. While the measure is currently set to expire at the end of 2026, the government has indicated it may be extended, though no formal decision has been made.
