Minimum wage to rise by 50 euros in 2027; Minister says it is "not a small amount in a country like Portugal"
The government confirmed it will honor the existing agreement with social partners to raise the national minimum wage to 970 euros in 2027, an increase of 50 euros from the current 920 euros. While some unions are pushing for a higher increase due to inflation and housing costs, the Minister of Labour stated that the current 34% cumulative increase planned through the end of the legislative term is significant.
