Lufthansa to pay up to 30 million euro deposit for TAP

Deaths decrease in Portugal, but deaths of children under one year increase

Preliminary INE data show total deaths in Portugal fell 1.1% in the first nine months of 2026 to 89,781, while deaths of infants under one year rose 7.7% to 195. Live births through August 2026 rose slightly by 0.1% to 57,598, and marriages through August increased 4.1% to 25,631.
