Lisbon City Council to submit new waste management regulation to public consultation

The Lisbon City Council approved the submission of a draft waste management and urban hygiene regulation for a 30-working-day public consultation period. The proposal aims to increase fines for environmental infractions from 50 to 90 euros, enforce stricter cleaning duties for businesses with street terraces (extending the radius from two to five meters), and shift waste collection responsibilities for large producers toward private operators.
