It's official: extended parental leave with 100% pay up to six months
A parliamentary working group approved a joint PSD and PS proposal to extend fully-paid parental leave. The benefit provides 100% pay for the first 150 days (five months) if taken by one parent, or up to 180 days (six months) if shared between both parents. The proposal now moves to the parliamentary committee on Labour, Social Security and Inclusion for further steps.
Why it mattersIf you are planning to have a child or are currently expecting, you may soon be eligible for up to six months of fully-paid parental leave if the proposal is successfully passed by the full parliament.
