Interest rates expected to rise. Monthly payments may increase by up to 70 euros as early as this month

The European Central Bank (ECB) is signaling a likely 0.25 percentage point interest rate hike at its next meeting on September 10, 2026, aimed at curbing inflation. Anticipating this decision, Euribor rates have already hit two-year highs, which may lead to monthly mortgage payment increases of around 70 euros for a typical loan starting in September.
