The Governing Council noted that while energy prices continue to drive inflation risks, they are taking a data-dependent, meeting-by-meeting approach to future adjustments, with analysts suggesting potential rate hikes remain possible in December or early 2027.

The Minister of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security reaffirmed that the government intends to honor the existing agreement with social partners to increase the national minimum wage by 50 euros in 2027, reaching 970 euros. While some unions argue for a higher increase due to the cost of living and inflation, the minister stated that no new agreement has been reached to change the current plan, which represents a total 34% increase in the minimum wage over the legislative term.

The Socialist Party (PS) intends to propose measures to limit tax revenue increases on fuel by capping the maximum tax adjustment allowed under the Special Consumption Tax Code. They are also renewing their previous proposals for temporary zero-VAT on a basket of essential food products and equivalent ISP (fuel tax) reductions during the upcoming committee-stage budget debate.
