Évora City Council launches new measures for public hygiene

The municipality has introduced new work shifts, equipment, and vehicles to improve street cleaning and hygiene. Starting in January 2027, municipal parish councils will take over the maintenance of some urban green spaces and street cleaning. Additionally, a new municipal temporary collection center for bulky household waste will open on Wednesday, 4 November, at Largo de Machede Velho.

Why it matters

If you live in Évora, you have access to a new collection point for bulky waste from 4 November, and street cleaning/green space maintenance may be handled by your local parish council starting in January 2027.

Digital Wallet has 18,000 companies and over 10 types of documents

The Minister Assistant and for State Reform reported that the Portuguese 'Carteira Digital' (Digital Wallet) for businesses currently includes 18,000 companies and handles more than 10 types of documents, with a total of 60,000 documents processed to date. The statement was made during the parliamentary review of the 2027 State Budget proposal.
