Constitutional Court review delays deadline for changes to immigrant regularization
The President sent the government's immigration law package to the Constitutional Court for preventive review, which delays its entry into force. The review focuses on deportation norms, while other measures—including the end of regularizations based on professional training, child enrollment, and the 'tacit approval' rule—remain unchanged. The law also extends the deadline for AIMA to process residency permit renewals from 60 to 90 days.
