Brazilian community votes this Sunday in Portugal: remember everything important to know

Brazilian voters residing in Portugal cast their ballots for the presidential election this Sunday, 2026-10-04, between 08:00 and 17:00. Participation is restricted to those who completed their electoral domicile transfer by May 2026, and voting is mandatory for literate citizens aged 18 to 70. Voters must go to the polling station assigned to their consular jurisdiction (Lisbon, Porto, or Faro) and present an official Brazilian photo ID; exceptionally, Lisbon voters may use official Portuguese photo IDs.

Why it mattersIf you are a Brazilian citizen living in Portugal and completed your electoral transfer, you must vote or justify your absence this Sunday to remain in compliance with Brazilian electoral law.
