Bank of Portugal says 'there are conditions' for the Government to deliver surpluses this year and next

The Governor of the Bank of Portugal stated that positive budget balances are achievable in 2026 and 2027, driven by a significant upward revision of GDP growth from 1.8% to 2.3% for the current year. This revision is expected to lead to higher tax revenues, supporting the Government's target of a small surplus.
